Arpita Roy

Arpita Roy is an accomplished astrophysicist with extensive experience in prominent scientific institutions. Currently serving as the Astrophysics & Space Institute Lead and Senior Program Scientist at Schmidt Sciences since May 2024, Arpita previously held the position of Program Scientist at Schmidt Futures from July 2022 to January 2024. Prior roles include Assistant Astronomer (Tenure Track) and Associate Research Scientist at the Space Telescope Science Institute and The Johns Hopkins University, respectively, from July 2020 to July 2022. Arpita's academic journey includes a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Penn State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Astrophysics and English from Franklin & Marshall College, and a semester abroad in English Literature at the University of Oxford. The early education background includes completion of ICSE/ISC at La Martinere College.
