Erika Heine Montague

Erika Heine Montague, Ph.D., currently serves as the Chief Technologist at Schmidt Marine Technology Partners since June 2015. Previously, Erika held the position of Head of Technology Strategy at Katapult Ocean from August 2018 to January 2020 and served as the VP of Communications and Chair for the Ocean Exploration Committee at the Marine Technology Society from August 2013 to November 2019. Additionally, Erika operated as a consultant through Erika Montague Consulting from November 2011 to November 2019 and worked as an Engineering Associate and Project Manager, as well as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute from 2007 until November 2011, where project management of the NSF and MBARI funded Eye-in-the-Sea was a highlight. Erika holds a Ph.D. in Oceanography from The Johns Hopkins University, an MS in Marine Biology, and a BS in Biological Sciences, both from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
