Joan Schmeichel

Joan Schmeichel is an experienced Intellectual Property Manager with a strong background in patent management and prosecution. Currently serving as an Intellectual Property Manager at Schneider Electric and as an Advisory Board Member for the Design Thinking Program at Tombolo Institute, Joan brings expertise in ideation and innovation. Previously, as a Senior Intellectual Property Operations Manager at TerraPower, LLC, Joan managed various intellectual property assets, including patents and trademarks. Additionally, Joan has experience as a Patent Paralegal at both Gilead Sciences and a Seattle law firm, focusing on US and international patent prosecution and mergers and acquisitions. Joan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services, Business, and Human Resources from Fitchburg State University.
