Bert Yao

Bert YAO, MD, PhD, MHS, currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Clinical Development at Scholar Rock since January 2024. Prior to this role, YAO held the position of Vice President of Clinical Development at PTC Therapeutics, Inc. from 2019 to December 2023 and served as Vice President of Clinical Development at Momenta Pharmaceuticals in 2018. Additionally, YAO worked at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as Senior Medical Director of Clinical Development from 2015 to 2018 and briefly as Department Head of Clinical Development at Parexel in 2015. YAO’s career in clinical development began at GlaxoSmithKline, where roles included Director, Associate Director, and Investigator from 2002 to 2015. Educational qualifications include medical training from Duke University School of Medicine, Heidelberg University in Germany, and TongJi Medical College of HUST.
