Efren Castillo

Efren Castillo is a dedicated school counselor currently employed at Scholarship Prep Public Schools since August 2021. With prior experience as a Senior Social Worker at the County of Orange Social Services Agency and a Career & Education Specialist at Waymakers, Efren has effectively assisted juvenile and young adult clients in addressing educational and career needs to reduce recidivism. Additional roles include working as a Transition Coordinator and a Direct Care Staff member, providing mental rehabilitative services to clients with diverse needs. Efren's foundational experiences include internships in school counseling and anti-bias seminars, supplemented by a solid educational background comprising a Master of Science in Counselor Education from California State University, Long Beach, and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Education Sciences and Psychology & Social Behavior from UC Irvine.
