Elizabeth Newbern

Elizabeth Newbern is an experienced library professional and digital asset creator with a strong background in journalism and education. Currently serving as Assistant Manager at Central Arkansas Library System since January 2018, Elizabeth assists with daily operations and supports public service staff. Additionally, Elizabeth works at Scholastic as a Digital Asset Creator, translating STEM materials into accessible digital formats. Previous roles include part-time Staff Reporter at GenomeWeb, Freelance Writer/Editor for the Science Literacy Project, and various editorial positions at reputable organizations such as Live Science and Scienceline.org. Elizabeth holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons University and a Master’s in Science, Health, and Environmental Journalism from New York University, as well as a Bachelor's degree from Bryn Mawr College.
