Lauren Flanagan

Lauren (McCrone) Flanagan is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Education Editor for STEAM at Scholastic since July 2017, and previously held the position of Senior Education Editor. Prior experience includes roles as a Digital Math Curriculum Specialist at Matific, where Lauren provided consultancy to district leaders at the elementary level, and as a Mathematics Specialist and Testing Coordinator at BelovED Community Charter School, where new curricula and instructional strategies were developed. Prior teaching experience spans various roles from kindergarten to 4th grade in multiple school districts, focusing on differentiated instruction and student achievement. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Psychology from The College of New Jersey.
