Carmen Murphy

Carmen Murphy is an experienced English-Spanish interpreter and translator with a comprehensive background in educational and medical settings. Currently serving at District 300 Schools since April 2015, Carmen focuses on English Learners Services and family engagement, organizing activities to enhance parental involvement in education and conducting bilingual meetings. As an independent contractor with Crystal Lake School District 47 since October 2009, Carmen provides interpretation services that cater to the diverse cultural backgrounds of students and their families. Previously, Carmen worked as a medical interpreter at Advocate Sherman Hospital from 2009 to 2015, ensuring effective communication between patients and physicians. Additionally, Carmen founded Mixtriza, a non-profit organization that supported the spiritual and social needs of Indian children. Carmen holds a degree in Translation from New York University and a degree in Radio Production from Instituto Tecnológico de Tijuana.
