Gina LaBarbera has extensive experience in education, having served as a Literacy Leader and both 4th and 5th Grade Teacher at School District 45 since August 2012. Prior to this role, Gina was a Reading Intervention Teacher at Cicero School District 99 from August 2011 to June 2012 and a 3rd Grade Teacher at Maywood/Melrose Park School District 89 from August 2001 to June 2003. Academic qualifications include multiple advanced degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and Reading from Olivet Nazarene University and Northeastern Illinois University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University. Currently, Gina is pursuing studies in Teacher Leadership at Elmhurst University.
