David Phelan

David Phelan's work experience began in 1991 as a Youth Worker at Inpatient Assessment- Juvenile Services to the Courts. David then worked as a Child Care Counselor at Maples Adolescent Treatment Center from 1992 to 1994. In 1995, they became a Teacher at Coquitlam Schoolboard, where they worked until 2013. From 2011 to 2014, they also served as a School Trustee at New Westminster School District No. 40. In 2013, they joined Simon Fraser University as a Faculty Associate until 2015. Since then, they have been working at School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) as a Vice Principal until September 2021, when they became a Principal.

David Phelan completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography, with minors in History and English, from Simon Fraser University from 1987 to 1992. David then pursued a Bachelor of Education degree in Social Studies from The University of British Columbia from 1994 to 1995.
