David Starr

David Starr has a diverse work experience. David began their career in 2011 as an author, specializing in YA, adult fiction, and non-fiction. In 2014, they joined the Burnaby School District as the Principal of SD41 Byrne Creek Community School, a position they held until 2018. In 2018, they transitioned to a new role as Principal for School District No. 43 (Coquitlam).

David Starr has a Bachelor's degree in History from Simon Fraser University, which they completed from 1988 to 1993. David also holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Secondary Education and Teaching from The University of British Columbia, which they earned from 1995 to 2005. Currently, they are pursuing a Gladue Report Writer certification from Royal Roads University/Indigenous Perspectives Society. Additionally, they have two Master of Education (M.Ed.) degrees from The University of British Columbia, with one specializing in Educational Leadership and Administration, General.
