Dr. Michael Farrell

Dr. Michael Farrell currently serves as the Chief Learning Officer for The School District of Philadelphia since July 2016, having previously held positions such as Deputy Chief of Leadership Development and Principal of Penn Alexander School. In addition, Dr. Farrell has been an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education since January 2018. Previously, leadership roles included serving as the Founding Principal of Thomas Elementary at Mastery Charter Schools and a Learning Support Teacher at Science Leadership Academy. Dr. Farrell began their career as a Special Education Teacher at Independence Charter School. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania (2019-2022), a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Bank Street College of Education (2008-2010), and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education, as well as American Studies, from La Salle University (2003-2007).
