Jermaine Dawson

Jermaine Dawson, Ed.D., currently serves as the Deputy Superintendent of Academic Services for The School District of Philadelphia, a role assumed in July 2023. Previously, Jermaine held various leadership positions, including Chief Academic and Accountability Officer for Birmingham City Schools, where oversight included 43 schools and over 21,000 students. Other significant roles include Zone Superintendent for Fulton County Schools and North Florida State Director for Charter Schools USA, both of which involved enhancing academic outcomes across numerous schools. Jermaine began a career in educational leadership as Principal at Atlanta Public Schools and has held various positions in larger districts such as Houston ISD and Duval County Public Schools. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education from Northcentral University and an educational leadership certification from Harvard Business School.
