Lillian Kivel

Lillian Kivel has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Lillian is currently working at The School District of Philadelphia as the Director of Strategy Implementation since September 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Project Manager in the Office of the Superintendent from July 2022 to September 2023. Before joining the school district, they were the Management, Communication, and Policy Fellow at the same organization from October 2021 to July 2022.

Lillian also has experience working at Minerva Schools at KGI, where they held multiple roles. Lillian was the Global Director of Marketing and Alumni Relations from June 2020 to July 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Manager of Global Campaigns from July 2019 to June 2020 and as the Manager of Global Campaigns and Programs from July 2017 to June 2019. Lillian started their tenure at Minerva Schools as the Student Outreach Manager for North America from February 2016 to July 2017.

Before joining Minerva Schools, Lillian worked at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as the Manager of Social Media and Publications from December 2014 to February 2016. Lillian also served as a Post-Baccalaureate Fellow at the foundation from July 2013 to December 2014.

Lillian's earlier experiences include working at Harvard University in the Harvard Admissions Office from May 2011 to May 2013, as well as internships at the Clinton Health Access Initiative as a Human Resources Intern in June 2011 and at Partners In Health as a Development Team Staff member from 2008 to 2011.

Lillian Kivel has a Master of Education - MEd degree in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, which they obtained from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Social Anthropology from Harvard University from 2009 to 2013. Lillian completed their high school education at The Winsor School from 2002 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained certifications in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from International House at UC Berkeley and completing the "From Ideas to Action" program from IDEO U in 2015.
