Thomas Murtaugh

Thomas Murtaugh has extensive experience in educational leadership and instruction. Currently serving as Assistant Principal and previously as Dean of Students at The School District of Philadelphia since August 2019, Thomas has demonstrated a commitment to student success. Prior to this role, Thomas held positions at Holy Ghost Preparatory School from August 2008 to August 2019, where responsibilities included Social Studies Faculty and Social Studies Department Chair. Additionally, Thomas contributed to international education as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant to South Korea with the U.S. Department of State from July 2007 to July 2008. Thomas holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Temple University and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education/Social Studies from the University of Scranton.
