Brian Nakahara

Director, Information Technology, Administrative Computing at School of Visual Arts

Brian Nakahara is the Director of Information Technology for Administrative Computing at the School of Visual Arts. Brian has over 20 years of experience in the IT field, with a focus on web development and software engineering.

Nakahara started their career as a software engineer with Tullett Prebon, a financial services firm, in 1998. Brian moved to SmartMoney.com in 2000, where they were a senior developer responsible for building the website's content management system. In 2001, they joined Tommy Hilfiger as the Director of IT for the Dickson Group, overseeing all aspects of IT for the company's retail stores. Brian remained with Tommy Hilfiger until 2010, when they joined the School of Visual Arts as Director of Information Technology.

Brian Nakahara's educational career consists of a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, Cultural Anthropology & Literature from The City College of New York, as well as a field in Computer Science from the University of Rochester.

Brian Nakahara reports to David Rhodes, President. They work with Geanine Rando - Director, Student Accounts, Kaori Uchisaka - Director, International Student Office, and Jason Koth - Registrar.
