Rachel Matthews-Seay is an experienced education professional with a focus on literacy. Currently serving as an ELA Specialist at SchoolKit since September 2022, Rachel develops literacy training for various educational stakeholders. Previously, Rachel worked as a Literacy Coordinator for Grades 3-8 with the Tennessee Department of Education, contributing to statewide literacy strategies and initiatives. Rachel's experience includes roles as Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach at KIPP Memphis Collegiate Schools, where leadership in curriculum adoption and professional development significantly improved student achievement. Earlier positions include Director of Secondary ELA Instruction with Teach For America, where Rachel created professional development for teachers, and teaching roles in English across multiple schools, showcasing a commitment to enhancing literacy education from K-12. Rachel holds a Master's of Education from Vanderbilt Peabody College and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
