Bertrand Maquin began their work experience in 1998 at Saint-Gobain, where they worked as an Ingénieur de Recherche. Bertrand was responsible for reporting to the Chef de groupe and the Responsable du programme "vieillissement et tenue mécanique". During their time there, they formulated a new optimized bio-soluble glass wool in under a year, resulting in a patent being filed in 2005. Bertrand also designed an internal training module for laboratory technicians. In 2004, Maquin became a Chef de Projet Emballage Anti-UV at Saint-Gobain, overseeing projects related to UV-resistant packaging within the Pôle Conditionnement. Bertrand successfully led a project for the production of a new beer bottle in Germany. In 2007, Maquin joined SCHOTT as a Chef de Produits / Ingénieur Technico-Commercial, managing a portfolio with a turnover of €3.5 million. Bertrand focused on key accounts such as Philips Automotive Lighting and SGD. Over the years, they held various managerial positions at SCHOTT, including Optoelectronic Department Director and Director of Tubing and Lighting Department. In their most recent position as Deputy General Manager & Tubing Sales Director, they played a crucial role in the company's success.
Bertrand Maquin's education history includes a Baccalauréat Série C in Sciences from Lycée Victor Louis, Talence, région de Bordeaux, obtained from 1986 to 1989. Bertrand also completed Classes préparatoires aux Grandes Ecoles in maths physique chimie at Lycée Michel Montaigne, Bordeaux, from 1989 to 1991. Bertrand later received a degree in Ingénieur in Chimie physique from Ensmac between 1991 and 1994. Furthermore, they pursued higher education at Université de Bordeaux from 1995 to 1998, earning a Doctorat in Chimie physique.
