Bill James

Bill James has a robust work experience that spans various roles and responsibilities. Bill started their career as a Product Development Scientist at SCHOTT in November 2010 and was promoted to Supervisor in February 2014. In August 2016, they became the Head of Materials Development, where they led the team and played a crucial role in research and innovation.

In April 2018, Bill took on the role of Interim Site Manager for Advanced Optics at SCHOTT, where they successfully turned around the performance of Site Duryea and improved operational metrics. Following this, they served as the Director of Materials Development from May 2019 to July 2020.

From July 2020 to November 2021, Bill held the position of Director of Research & Development and New Business Development at SCHOTT, where they contributed to the company's growth and explored new ventures.

Bill's most recent role at SCHOTT is as the Vice President of R&D and New Ventures, starting in December 2021. In this position, they lead the North American R&D and New Ventures teams, develops strategies for the US Growth Program, and handles government relations.

Before joining SCHOTT, Bill worked as a Post-doctoral researcher at Purdue University from October 2009 to November 2010. During this time, they conducted research on infrared population transfer laser spectroscopy and led research projects.
