Nariman Balenga

Nariman Balenga is a Senior Principal Scientist at Schrödinger, with a diverse background in pharmacology and molecular medicine. Previously, at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Balenga contributed to the development of RNAi therapeutics and established a pharmacology lab. During tenure at Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Balenga advanced drug programs and led efforts in high-throughput screening and target validation. An academic career at the University of Maryland School of Medicine involved securing substantial funding for research on adhesion GPCRs, training students, and teaching. Earlier experience includes postdoctoral positions at the National Institutes of Health and Medical University of Graz, focusing on GPCR signaling and asthma research, as well as early research at the Pasteur Institute of Iran. Balenga holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine and an M.Sc. in Medical Biotechnology.
