Yvonne Achermann

Yvonne Achermann serves as the Leitende Ärztin Innere Medizin und Infektiologie at Spital Zollikerberg since July 2021, specializing in infectious diseases with a focus on bone and joint infections. Concurrently, Yvonne holds the position of Konsiliarärztin orthopädische Infektionen at Schulthess Klinik and works as a Senior Researcher at Universitätsspital Zürich, where research is conducted on photodynamic treatment for bone and joint infections. Prior experience includes roles as a Consultant Senior at Schulthess Klinik, Attending Physician at University Hospital of Zurich, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Maryland, dedicated to research on biofilm and vaccine development related to implant-associated infections. Yvonne's medical training includes a residency in infectious diseases at both the University of Zurich and Cantonal Hospital Zug, following the completion of an MD degree from the University of Zurich in 2003.
