David A. Hinson

Managing Director And Head Of Entrepreneurs Equity Fund at Schultz Family Foundation

David A. Hinson has a diverse work experience that spans over a decade. David A. started their career in 2009 as the National Director at the US Department of Commerce, where they advised the federal government on the growth and global competitiveness of minority-owned businesses. During their tenure, they managed a national network of 50 operating units and assisted minority-owned businesses in obtaining $19 billion in capital and contracts.

In 2014, Hinson joined MicroTechnologies, LLC as the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Mergers & Acquisitions. In this role, they led all financial and capital acquisition activities for the company. David A. successfully closed a multi-million dollar financing package, improved financial flexibility, and restructured the finance team to focus on cost reduction. Hinson also spearheaded the acquisition of technology-based companies in the fields of telecommunications, technology infrastructure, healthcare IT, and financial services.

In 2020, Hinson moved on to Ategra Capital Management, where they served as the Senior Vice President until 2022. Finally, in 2021, they joined the Schultz Family Foundation as the Managing Director and Head of the Entrepreneurs Equity Fund.

Throughout their career, Hinson has demonstrated strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and a dedication to supporting and driving the success of businesses.

David A. Hinson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance/Insurance from Howard University. David A. also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance from The Wharton School. In addition, they completed a certificate program in International Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics and received a Certificate of Proficiency in Essential French from Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny. David A. also completed an Executive Education program in Growing High Performance Businesses from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Furthermore, David obtained a certification as a Certified Merger & Acquisitions Advisor from the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors in 2010.
