Tarek Hendawy

Tarek Hendawy is a seasoned professional in food safety and quality assurance, currently serving as the Quality Assurance and Food Safety Manager at Schuman Cheese since June 2016. Prior experience includes roles as Plant Hygienist and Sanitation Manager at Goya Foods, and Senior Microbiologist at Whitlock Packaging, where responsibilities involved environmental monitoring and food safety management. Tarek has also held microbiological positions at Novartis and AstraZeneca, focusing on microbial identification and quality control under stringent regulatory guidelines. Tarek's career began as a meat inspector and researcher in food safety, and Tarek holds a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine, a Master's in Food Science and Microbiology, and a PhD focused on Enterobacteriaceae in imported fish, all from Alexandria University.
