Thomas Wittek serves as the Chairman of the Railway Committee at the European Business Council in Japan since February 2025. Currently, Thomas holds the position of Business Development Director for Transit Systems Asia at Schunk Group, where responsibilities have been undertaken since April 2020. Prior to this role, Thomas was the Managing Director at Schunk Carbon Technology Japan KK from March 2012 to March 2020. Academically, Thomas holds a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, obtained between 1995 and 2004, and a Doctor of Engineering in Material Science from Shonan Institute of Technology, completed from 2005 to 2009.
