Shaalan Beg M.D.

Shaalan Beg MD MBA has a diverse work experience in the field of oncology. Shaalan currently holds the position of Vice President, Oncology at Science 37 since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at UT Southwestern Medical Center from 2011 to 2022, where they held various roles including Adjunct Associate Professor, Director of GI Medical Oncology, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, and Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine.

Shaalan also served at UTSW Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center from 2012 to 2022. During this time, they held roles such as Leader of the Phase 1 Clinical Trial Program, Medical Director of the Clinical Research Office, and Co-Leader of the GI Oncology Disease Oriented Team. In these positions, they demonstrated leadership in overseeing clinical trial operations, improving study activation time, and increasing enrollment of racial/ethnic minorities. Shaalan also played a pivotal role in developing and leading numerous clinical trials.

Dr. Beg's work experience reflects their dedication to advancing oncology research and patient care, with a particular focus on innovative treatments and precision medicine.

Dr. Shaalan Beg holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Aga Khan University. Shaalan also has a Master of Clinical Sciences degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center. In addition, they obtained an Executive MBA from UTD Center for Healthcare Leadership and Management.

Dr. Beg has obtained certifications in Hematology, Internal Medicine, and Medical Oncology from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
