Jim McWeeny

Jim McWeeny is an experienced grant writer currently employed at the Science Center of Iowa since February 2013. Previously, Jim served as Resources Coordinator at Iowa Homeless Youth Centers, where fundraising campaigns raised $1.9 million annually. Prior roles include Community Relations Liaison at Churches United Homeless Shelter, focusing on fundraising and public relations, and Development Director at Ballet Iowa, where major funding was secured for the world premiere of the ballet adaptation of Doctor Zhivago. Jim also played a key role in establishing Iowa Shares as Program Coordinator and spent a decade as Staff Director for the CLEC Canvass Network, specializing in door-to-door fundraising. Jim holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Theatre Arts from the University of Iowa.
