Mark Currie has worked in various roles in the pharmaceutical industry since 1990. Mark began their career at Searle as Senior Director of Discovery Pharmacology. In 1999, they moved to Sepracor Inc as Vice President of Discovery. In 2002, they joined Microbia as Chief Science Officer. In 2008, they joined Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, first as Senior Vice President and then as Director of the Board of Directors. In 2019, they joined Cyclerion as President and Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board. In 2020, they joined Science Exchange as Director of the Board of Directors. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Sea Pharmaceuticals as a Member of the Board of Directors.
Mark Currie received their Bachelor of Science in Biology, General from the University of South Alabama in 1976. Mark then went on to pursue their Doctor of Philosophy in Cell Biology and Anatomy at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, graduating in 1980.
