Helen Scharfman is a Senior Research Scientist at Scharfman Lab and the Nathan Kline Institute, where research focuses on translational neuroscience and the role of the dentate gyrus in memory and behavior. Currently a Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine in multiple departments, Helen also serves as a Consultant for Passage Bio and holds editorial roles at eLife Sciences Publications, Science Magazine, and Frontiers. Previous positions include being a Principal Investigator at NYU Langone Health and serving on the Advisory Board for Pyramid Biosciences. Helen's academic background includes a PhD in Pharmacology from the Uniformed Services University and a postdoctoral degree in Neurological Surgery from the University of Washington, supplemented by a BA in Biopsychology from Vassar College.
