Kelly Lamarco

Kelly LaMarco is an accomplished science editor and writer with extensive experience in the field of biomedical research. Currently serving as a Contributing Editor at Science Magazine since January 2018, LaMarco previously co-founded and held the position of Senior Editor at Science Translational Medicine from March 2009 to February 2017. A strong background in scientific writing and consulting spans over a decade of self-employment before that. Other notable roles include serving as Director of West Coast Alliances at The New York Academy of Sciences and founding Editorial Director for Science's SAGE KE, a web-based scientific journal focusing on aging research. LaMarco's career began with positions at Tularik Pharmaceutical Co. and Carnegie Institute of Washington, following the attainment of a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
