Ella Shafir

Ella Shafir has worked in the design and visual branding field since 1999. Ella began their career at Compass Learning (now Edgenuity Inc.) as a Senior Multimedia and Print Graphic Designer & Illustrator. During their time there, they developed flash animations, e-learning modules, and e-books for K-12 instructional materials, as well as designing book covers, page layouts, and illustrations for educational teacher guides, CDs, and packaging. Ella also managed book-publishing design and production.

In 2005, Ella took on a contract role at Binary Labs Inc. as an Animator, Graphic Designer, and Project Lead. At Binary Labs, Ella created and developed animations and background and character illustrations for several educational software titles. Ella also streamlined aspects of the production cycle, reducing production time by 15%.

In 2007, Ella joined Valley View Casino & Hotel as a Senior Graphic Designer and Illustrator. At Valley View, they were responsible for all aspects of design, from creative concepts to final production, for traditional and digital marketing campaigns. Ella created marketing collateral, including signs, logos, magazine and newspaper ads, direct mail, event promotions, and brand identity.

In 2010, Ella began working at HP as a Visual Designer. During their time at HP, they elevated visual aspects of product experience, partnering with cross-disciplinary teams of interactive design and user experience designers. Ella applied creativity, industry design standards, and best practices to define and implement design criteria, design guidelines, and design specs, while staying within HP design guidelines.

Most recently, Ella has been working at ScienceMedia, Inc. as a Visual Brand Manager since 2019. In this role, they are responsible for the development and implementation of ScienceMedia visual brand identity guidelines and ensuring a visual identity that aligns with the brand’s overall strategy, across all ScienceMedia marketing and product materials. Ella also works with the product group team to define product colors, layout, and iconography.

Ella Shafir has taken courses in Graphic Design and Illustration at Salt Lake Community College and has completed graduate courses in Web Design and Flash Animation at UC San Diego Extended Studies.
