Lucas Chancel

Lucas Chancel is a highly experienced academic and researcher currently serving as an Associate Professor of Economics with tenure at Sciences Po since January 2012, where involvement includes research at the Center for Research on Social Inequalities and teaching in economics and public policy. Chancel is also the Co-Director of the World Inequality Lab and serves in multiple roles including Coordinator at the Paris School of Economics and Senior Advisor at the European Tax Observatory. Research areas encompass social dimensions of sustainable development, economic inequalities, and macroeconomic imbalances. Chancel holds a PhD in Economics from EHESS, along with multiple advanced degrees from prestigious institutions such as Imperial College London and the London School of Economics. Recent academic appointments include a visiting scholar role at Harvard Kennedy School.
