Eric Deconinck is the Head of the Scientific Service at Sciensano, where they oversee quality control of pharmaceutical preparations and lead research on counterfeit medicines. After earning a PhD in analytical chemistry from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Eric completed a post-doc at the Catholic University of Leuven and collaborated with spin-off companies in pharmacotechnology. Since 2009, they have contributed to the former Institute of Public Health and continued to develop methods for the evaluation and analysis of health products. Eric has also been a promotor for various bachelor, master, and PhD projects in the field.
