Beatriz Acevedo Muñoz

Beatriz Acevedo Muñoz, PhD, currently serves as a Research Project Leader at SCK-CEN since February 2019. Previously, Beatriz worked as a Senior Research Associate and Material Scientist at the University of East Anglia from June 2016 to July 2018, where responsibilities included the organization and management of research engineering laboratories. Beatriz's earlier experience includes serving as an R&D Engineer at Instituto Nacional del Carbón - CSIC, where nine peer-reviewed articles and seven international conference communications were published while managing multiple projects. Further academic contributions were made as a Research Visitor at the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto and a Guest Researcher at Wroclaw University of Technology. Beatriz also has experience as a Research Assistant at TNO, focusing on thermodynamic modeling, and as a Fellow at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, working on magnetic nanomaterials. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Material Science and a Master's degree in Science and Technology of Materials from Universidad de Oviedo, as well as a MEng in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
