Babak Sardary has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. In 1994, they started their career as an Integration Engineer at CAE, where they worked for eight months. Following this, they joined Modular Vision Systems in 1996 as a Robot Vision Researcher, and their work there continued until September 1997. From November 1997 to December 1998, they worked as a Mechatronics Engineer at Cymbolic Sciences Inc. In 1998, they joined Braintech Inc, where they held multiple positions including President, Chief Technology Officer, and Director, and their tenure there ended in February 2009. In 2015, Babak co-founded Scoop® Robotix, where they served as the CEO. In 2016, they co-founded Scoop® Solar and continued to hold the position of CEO.
Babak Sardary pursued their education in engineering, specializing in robotics and mechatronics. Babak began their academic journey at the University of Waterloo in 1991, where they earned their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Mechatronics Engineering in 1996. Continuing their studies, Babak then pursued a Master of Applied Science (MASc) degree in Robotics Engineering at the University of Waterloo from 1996 to 1998.
