Lori Barnes

Lori Barnes is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in public relations and external relations across various organizations. Currently serving as the Director of External Relations at SCORE Mentors since February 2021, Lori previously held the position of Industry Communications Manager at the Mattress Recycling Council from June 2019 to February 2021, where brand-building and strategic communications were key focuses. As Principal at Acorn Communications Consulting from 2002 to 2019, efforts were concentrated on enhancing brand awareness and engagement, while a notable tenure at the American International Automobile Dealers Association involved developing award-winning communication strategies and managing a $1 million advocacy campaign. Earlier roles included Director of Communications at the Certified Professional Insurance Agents Society and Public Relations Coordinator at the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents. Lori holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Political Science from Radford University.
