Wei Chien Ong

Wei Chien Ong has a diverse work experience in various engineering and management roles. In 2011, they worked as a Plastic Tooling Designer at First Engineering Ltd. From 2014 to 2019, they worked at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research, where they held positions as an Assistant Development Engineer, a Development Engineer, and a Senior Process Development Engineer. Wei Chien then worked as a Research Engineer at iHealthtech, National University of Singapore, from 2021 to 2022, where they were responsible for managing office space expansion and overseeing facility maintenance. Most recently, starting in 2022, Wei Chien Ong worked as a Process Engineer at ASMPT Ltd, where they conducted process characterization studies, optimized processes, and provided technical support to the production team. In 2023, they joined Scorpio Electric as a Manufacturing Project Manager.

Wei Chien Ong completed a Diploma in Precision Engineering from Nanyang Polytechnic from 2008 to 2011. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their formal education, Wei Chien Ong obtained several certifications including Six Sigma: Green Belt from LinkedIn in October 2021, Apply teamwork in the workplace from ASCENDO CONSULTING PTE LTD in May 2020, WSQ Apply 5S Techniques from Ascendo Consulting Pte Ltd in May 2020, WSQ Develop a Risk Management Implementation Plan from BSI Neville Clarke – A BSI Professional Services Company in August 2016, and WSQ Perform Rigger and Signalman Tasks from Wong Fong Academy in February 2016.
