Brian Ding

Brian Ding is an accomplished professional with extensive expertise in risk management, financial modeling, and advanced analytics. Currently serving as Director at Scotiabank since October 2019, Brian has led initiatives in model validation, AI risk management, and the development of model validation guidelines. As a Senior Consultant at Brian Ding Financial Modelling & Advanced Analytics Inc. since September 2018, Brian has focused on implementing AI algorithms for financial institutions, developing advanced models, and applying natural language processing techniques. Previous leadership roles include Senior Director at Equitable Bank, where model risk management procedures were established, and Director at BMO Financial Group, with a 12-year tenure in various risk management domains. Brian holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research and a Master's Degree in Quantitative Finance from the University of Waterloo.
