Derek Holt

Derek Holt is the Vice President & Head of Capital Markets Economics at Scotiabank, where they lead a global team focused on capital markets research. Since 2008, Derek has raised the desk’s ranking for Economics research to first place among Canadian institutional clients through strong partnerships and a client-centric approach. Previously, they served as Assistant Chief Economist at RBC from 1998 to 2000, where they managed a team and contributed to high-level internal planning with a focus on North American markets. Derek holds a degree from the University of Toronto, earned between 1994 and 1995.
