Michelle Phillips

Michelle Phillips is an accomplished finance executive currently serving as President & CEO of Scotia Finance (USA) LLC since August 2023, overseeing a portfolio of US$3.5 billion in investment-grade loans across over 10 key sectors of the U.S. economy. In addition to this role, Michelle has been a Managing Director in corporate and investment banking at Scotiabank since November 2018. Previous positions include serving on the Board of Directors for FirstHx from May 2021 to May 2023, and holding the title of Execution Head & Director at Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets from January 2008 to October 2018, focusing on corporate banking within the U.S. healthcare sector and various diversified industries. Michelle's early career includes the role of Director of Risk Management at The Bank of Nova Scotia from January 2004 to February 2008. Michelle holds an MBA in Business from the University of Toronto.
