Andrew Hogg

Andrew Hogg is a highly experienced Senior Sports Physician at the UK Sports Institute since July 2017, focusing on brain health and serving as a multi-sport physician. Hogg holds multiple chief medical officer roles with the Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Northern Diamonds, in addition to a musculoskeletal physician position at Sheffield Orthopaedics Limited. As the Head of Medical for Scotland Rugby League Limited, Hogg participated as team doctor for the 2022 Rugby League World Cup. Involved with various sports organizations, Andrew Hogg is also a council member and examiner for the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK and serves on the integrity and clinical governance advisory group for England Netball. Hogg's educational background includes a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Newcastle University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine from Trinity College Dublin, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography from the University of East London.

Scotland Rugby League is the governing body for rugby league and wheelchair rugby league in Scotland overseeing development and participation at all levels of the sport. We are currently 9th in the Men’s World Rankings (3rd in Europe) and Currently 6th in the Wheelchair World Rankings Our aim is to provide opportunities for people of all ages to take part in the game in Scotland while developing a strong competitive environment to support the development of our international players. As well as our senior Men's team we run Women's, Wheelchair, Students, Under 19 and Under 16 teams. The pinnacle of international competition is the World Cup, that will next be staged in 2021 in England.
