Richard Baker

Richard Baker is an experienced professional with a strong background in international relations, clean growth, and energy transition. Currently serving as the Head of China and Head of Energy and Low Carbon Transition APAC at Scottish Development International since October 2022, Richard focuses on enhancing Scotland's commercial ties with China and leading a team of specialists across the Asia Pacific region. Previous roles include leading the Science and Technology team's initiatives on clean growth at the British Embassy Beijing and managing the £360 million UK-China Science and Innovation Partnership Fund. Richard's career also encompasses various positions in science communications, human resources, and education, underpinned by a BSc in Geophysical Sciences from the University of East Anglia.
