Calum Paterson

Managing Partner at Scottish Equity Partners

Calum Paterson is SEP’s Managing Partner and has led the firm since its inception. He chairs the SEP investment committee and works from the firm’s offices in London and Glasgow.

Calum works closely with a number of our portfolio companies and was a member of the board of directors at travel-search company Skyscanner, prior to its £1.5 billion sale to Trip.com at the end of 2016.

Calum has been investing in high growth companies since 1991. He trained as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young, the global professional services firm. He has BA and MBA degrees from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Scotland’s national academy of science and learning.

Calum was Chair of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) for 2018/19 and is currently a serving member of the BVCA Council. The BVCA is the industry body and public policy advocate for the private equity and venture capital industry in the UK, with more than 750 members including over 325 fund managers and 125 institutional investors.
