Ross MacDonald-Allan has a strong background in media and communications. Ross started their career as a Communications Assistant at the University of Strathclyde, where they contributed to the production of various publications. Ross later became an Assistant Publications Officer, leading the development and implementation of the university's publications strategy, including digital publications. Ross then served as a Communications Officer at the Beedie School of Business at SFU, where they managed a team and implemented communications strategies. Most recently, Ross has been working at the Scottish Football Association, initially as a Media and Communications Officer and later as a Media and Communications Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Media Operations. Ross has played key roles in media relations for both men's and women's national teams.

Ross MacDonald-Allan obtained a BA degree in Law and Sociology from the University of Strathclyde from 2002 to 2006. Ross then pursued an MSc degree in Publishing Studies from Robert Gordon University from 2007 to 2010.
