Callum Strachan

Lead Engineer at ScottishPower

Callum Strachan has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. Callum started their career in 1996 at ScottishPower as a Graduate Trainee. Callum then worked as a Production Engineer and was responsible for the operational control of the Galloway Hydro-electric scheme. In 1998, they became an Assistant Engineer and in 1999 they were promoted to Plant Manager, where they managed a portfolio of small generation plants. Their responsibilities included maximizing technical and commercial performance and managing relationships with contractors and regulatory stakeholders. In 2002, Callum became the Lead Engineer, responsible for delivering energy yield analysis services for onshore renewable energy projects across the UK and Ireland. Callum provided expert advice to support financial evaluation and technical risk assessment of projects.

Callum Strachan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics from the University of Strathclyde between 1989 and 1994. Callum then pursued a Master's degree in Energy Systems & the Environment, also at the University of Strathclyde, from 1994 to 1995.
