Chris M

Chris M has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Chris began their career with IBM as a Test Technician in 1989 and then moved on to DMC Telecom Inc (now Aviat Networks) as a Technical Service Engineer. At DMC Telecom, they were responsible for testing, servicing, and repairing digital microwave radio and fiber optic transmission systems.

In 1991, Chris joined Westinghouse Electric Company as a Project/Commissioning Engineer, where they wrote test procedures and conducted site acceptance for various communication equipment. Chris worked on projects ranging from onshore hilltop sites to gas terminals and turnkey offshore telecom solutions.

From there, Chris joined BHP Billiton as a Project/Commissioning Engineer before transitioning to British Energy. At British Energy, they held two roles: Senior Strategic IT Architect and Network Analyst. In these roles, Chris was involved in the strategic alignment of IT across the company, including IT and telecoms integration of power stations and deployment of LAN/WAN and network Cybersecurity models.

Following their time at British Energy, Chris worked at IT Revenue as a Telecoms and IT Consultant before joining Caprock Communications as a Telecoms Consultant. At Caprock Communications, they provided managed communication and IT services to the offshore oil and gas industry.

Chris then joined Nessco, A RigNet Company, as a Telecoms/OT Consultant. In this role, they provided a range of IS/IT, telecoms, and system security services to industrial environments.

Most recently, Chris has been working at ScottishPower as a Senior Engineer and is currently serving as a Lead Engineer.

Chris M attended Boclair Academy from 1978 to 1984 and Colquhoun Park from 1972 to 1978. They obtained various certifications over the years, including CCNA Industrial from Cisco in 2017, UKOOA Offshore Medical from OPITO in 2017, Understanding of Managing Industrial Networking for Manufacturing with Cisco Technologies from Cisco in 2016, OPITO BOSIET/ FOET from OPITO in 2015, Cisco CCENT from Cisco in 2014, Cisco Small and Midsize Business Account Manager Representative from Cisco in 2014, Cisco Small and Midsize Business Engineer Representative from Cisco in 2014, Level 2 Certificate in Communications Cabling (C&G 3666) from City and Guilds in 2010, Mitel SX2000 to ICP3300 Bridging from Mitel in 2007, Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from SCOTVEC in 1988, and Certificate of Basic Technician Training (Electrical/ Electronic) from EITB in 1985.
