Todd Flott is a co-founder, manager of the General Partner and member of the investment committee at Scout. He is responsible for acquisitions, engineering, geology and operations.
Todd received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kansas in 1991. Todd spent six years working for Texaco Exploration and Production Company as an Operations Engineer focusing on Texaco’s Mid-Continent properties for four years and working on a Gulf of Mexico asset management team for two years.
Todd joined a large oil and gas direct investment firm, Merit Energy, in 1997 and held multiple positions, including Acquisitions Engineer, Region Manager, and Senior Vice President. From 2002-2005, Todd built Merit’s Canadian Division from a start-up operation, acquiring assets with production of approximately 8,000 gross BOEPD and achieving approximately $60 million in annual revenue before returning to Dallas as Senior Vice President. Prior to co-founding Scout in 2009, Todd was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Merit’s North Division, managing operations, engineering, geology, accounting and oil and gas marketing for approximately two-thirds of the firm’s production and operating business, accounting for over 66,000 BOEPD.
