Brett began their career as a Bartender and Assistant Manager at Del Rey, followed by a role as a Bartender at Ray's Boathouse, Cafe & Catering. In 2011, they worked as a Paralegal Intern at the Unemployment Law Project and as an Administrative Assistant and Volunteer at Family Law CASA of King County. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Bartender and Assistant Manager at Little Water Cantina, and as a Bartender at The Westy Sports & Spirits from 2014 to 2020. In 2020, they worked as a Freelance Web Developer, and in 2021 they were a Software Engineer / e-commerce Consultant at Astoria Coffee Co. Brett is currently working as a Full-stack Technical Support Engineer at Scratch Financial, beginning in 2022.

Brett then attended Highline College from 2011 to 2012, where they earned a Certificate in Paralegal.
