Jeremy Bernstein

Jeremy Bernstein is the VP of Finance & Strategy at Scratch. Jeremy was previously the Controller & Director of Operations at Hotel 32/32 from January 2014 to February 2017.

At Hotel 32/32, Jeremy was part of a 2-person management team responsible for establishing operational procedures for the opening of the 1st tower in June 2014 and 2nd tower in September 2015. Jeremy also developed monthly revenue reconciliation procedures to ensure that all dollars coming into the hotel were properly classified and tracked for collection.

In addition, Jeremy performed analyses of full booking data to determine insights on optimal pricing and promotional strategies. Jeremy also produced ongoing cash flow forecasts for internal circulation, as well as monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP to be distributed to owners and the bank.

Researching key drivers of guest satisfaction for boutique hotels, Jeremy determined the most cost-effective ways to staff and brand the property to optimize pursuit of revenue growth goals. Jeremy also conducted the monthly close process and input related journal entries for all GL accounts in the Xero system. Lastly, they administered the entire payroll process and related human resource functions.

Jeremy Bernstein attended the University of Maryland where they obtained their Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Jeremy then went on to obtain their certification from the Morning Brew Accelerator in Founding Cohort. Finally, they obtained their Certified Public Accountant certification from New York State.
