Janelle Tricia Magaling has a diverse work experience that spans from 2019 to the present. In 2019, they were the Ensemble Director for Samahang Pilipino Cultural Night and a STEP Intern for Samahang Pilipino Teaching Through Experience. In 2020, they were a Logistics Team Member for Pilipinos for Community Health, an Undergraduate Researcher for Kaufman Lab, an Assistant Secretary for UCLA Student Wellness Commission, and an Event Evaluation Program Research Committee Member for UCLA Student Wellness Commission. In 2021, they were a Frontline Ambassador for Hammer Museum and, in 2022, they will be a Research Specialist for Scribe Therapeutics. Additionally, in 2021 they were an Undergraduate Lab Assistant and an Undergraduate Student Researcher for the University of California, Los Angeles. As an Undergraduate Student Researcher, they investigated phages in wet lab, annotated the phage genome of phages ObLaDi and Tallboi using bioinformatic tools, and conducted comparative genomic analysis using bioinformatic tools. As an Event Evaluation Program Research Director, they led a team of 10 to distribute and collect Process and Intercept surveys and co-authored a 20 page article for the Journal of American College Health.
Janelle Tricia Magaling attended Armijo High School from 2014 to 2018. Janelle Tricia then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics at the University of California, Los Angeles from 2018 to 2022. In March 2020, they obtained a CPR & AED certification from the American Heart Association.
