Senior Scientist Ii, Discovery at Scribe Therapeutics

Shyam Sundhar Bale has over 20 years of experience in the field of bioengineering and life sciences. Shyam Sundhar is currently working as a Senior Scientist II at Scribe Therapeutics since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Verily as a Senior Scientist (Life Sciences) from 2019 to 2023, where they focused on high-throughput workflows for Crispr/Cas9 delivery and knock-out generation. Shyam also spent three years at Draper as a Senior Member of the Technical Staff, Bio Systems and Tissue Engineering, where they developed a high-throughput liver-on-a-chip platform. Shyam Sundhar worked at Massachusetts General Hospital as an Assistant in Bioengineering and a Research Fellow from 2010 to 2016, where they developed skin and immune system-on-chip platforms and 3D biomimetic liver sinusoid constructs. Shyam Sundhar also held research fellow positions at Harvard Medical School and Shriners Hospitals for Children during the same period. Before that, Shyam was a Visiting Scholar and Graduate Student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they studied nanoscale materials and their effect on cells. Shyam Sundhar started their career as an Undergraduate Student at Osmania University, Hyderabad, India, where they worked on the development of an equation for determining the thermal conductivity of non-newtonian fluids. Shyam also had an internship at Everest Organics Limited, where they gained experience in process monitoring and product optimization.

Shyam Sundhar Bale began their education at Osmania University in 2001, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. Shyam Sundhar successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2005. Immediately after, Shyam continued their academic journey at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they enrolled in a Master of Engineering program in Chemical Engineering. Shyam Sundhar completed this degree in 2010, simultaneously pursuing a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the same institution. In 2010, Shyam successfully completed their doctoral studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
